Nabarangpur BJD MP quits party
Bhubaneswar, Feb 14: The sitting Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP from Nawarangpur, Balabhadra Majhi, today quit the party saying that he has been ignored in the setup.
He sent his resignation letter to party chief Naveen Patnaik on Thursday which said he was ignored during discussions and meetings in the party and that he was hardly intimated of the visits of party functionaries to his constituency. Sources in BJD, however, said that his resignation a month prior to the elections would hardly impact the party’s prospects in Nawarangpur. Majhi, who won the elections in 2014, got the hint that he is not being fielded as the MP candidate this time said the sources and hence this decision.
