Shah praises Naveen for maintaining law and order

Bhubaneswar: BJP chief Amit Shah praised Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha government for maintaining law and order situation during election rallies.
Not a single instance of violence has been reported from the BJP-ruled state during electioneering. The BJD government, led by Naveen Patnaik, deserves praise as there was no violence during polls or rallies, Shah said.
The BJP chief’s remark comes a day after vandalism in Kolkata road show. Shah told reporters in New Delhi on Wednesday that he luckily survived the dastardly attack. He was immediately taken to safety by the Central forces.
Shah said it was the TMC workers and not the BJP workers who indulged in vandalism during the road show in Kolkata on Tuesday.
He alleged that the bust of social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was damaged at Vidyasagar College by TMC workers to gain sympathy. The Election Commission in West Bengal is a mute spectator in West Bengal and history-sheeters have not been arrested before polls, he added.
Shah said six phases of Lok Sabha Elections have taken place in the country, but violence has not been witnessed in any state other than in West Bengal.
