Bhubaneswar: 5T and Nabin Odisha chairman VK Pandian on Friday visited Kalahandi and Sambalpur districts to review the progress of various developmental works and interact with students and the people.
In Kalahandi, he participated in the Nua-O programme, organised at Manikeswari University ground and interacted with students of the colleges in the district. He told the students to take advantage of the Nua-O programme to showcase their talent and gain personality development in addition to academic achievements.
Pandian reviewed the progress of the construction of 650-bed Teaching Hospital, 100-bed new building at DHH and Cancer Care Centre at Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College & Hospital, Bhawanipatna at a total cost of Rs 275 crore. He instructed the officials to complete all remaining works at the earliest.
Later, he reviewed the progress of development of major temple projects in the district including Maa Lankeshwari temple; Belkhandi temple; Manikeswari temple and Jagannath temple in Thuamul Rampur; Maa Bhandagharani temple in Dharamgarh and Budharaja temple in Ampani at a total cost of Rs 8.75 crore.
He informed that 8 hostels for ST boys and girls with each having capacity of 120 beds have been sanctioned for various higher secondary schools and degree colleges at a cost of Rs 24 crore.
In Sambalpur, the 5T chairman reviewed the progress of improvement and restoration of Sason main canal, development of Maa Ghanteswari temple at Chiplima, Leaning Temple of Huma and tourism infrastructure development at Veer Surendra Sai Smrutipitha, Khinda at a total cost of Rs 86 crore.
He also interacted with the public at Shree Krishna Nagar ground in Bhawanipatna, Bareipali Field in Sambalpur and Kilasama Stadium in Rengali. He received the grievances on various issues and assured early resolution.
