Bhubaneswar: Each student has dreams which should be rewarded. This is not just a matter of pride for the parents or the institution but is the strength of society. This enables not only the creation of responsible citizens but also allows knowledge to be passed on to future generations, ensuring continuous development, said chief guest Prof. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice-Chancellor of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women.
Speaking at the third convocation ceremony of Rama Devi Women’s University here on Saturday, Harishankar said through education, a person learns to stand up against others, just as a tribal girl from Koraput united her community to protect her village forest. Students should reflect the vision of Maa Rama Devi in their education, she added.
During the ceremony, 17 PhD degrees and gold medals to 48 department toppers were awarded, while 7 students were recognized as best graduates in various fields. Vice-Chancellor of RD University Prof. Aparajita Chowdhury presided over the convocation ceremony.
Among others, Registrar Shyamali Mahapatra, Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University Prof. Sabita Acharya, Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University Prof. Geetanjali Dash, former FM University Vice-Chancellor Madhumita Das, Professors Chandicharan Rath, Durgashankar Shadangi, Ramanuj Narayan, Bijay Mishra, Rosanara Begum, Professor Sasmita Mahanti, Madhusmita Pati, members of the syndicate, and heads of all departments were present.
