14 ex-MLAs occupying Govt quarters unauthorisedly

Bhubaneswar: Fourteen former MLAs continue to occupy government quarters unauthorisedly, according to data shared by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha Assembly on Monday.

Responding to a query by MLA Manas Kumar Dutta, the CM provided details on sitting MLAs allotted government quarters and ex-members who are yet to vacate theirs.

Among the 14 former legislators, 11 are from BJD, two from BJP and one Congress. Amar Prasad Satpathy of BJD and Santosh Singh Saluja of Congress have sought to retain their quarters on health ground and the files are under process.

In September, the General Administration department had served notices on 27 former MLAs, asking them to vacate the government accommodation within a month.
