Amit Shah’s special gift to 7-year-old Mizoram girl

New Delhi: During his visit to the Northeast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah gifted a guitar to 7-year-old Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte. Esther’s soulful rendition of Vande Mataram in Aizawl bowled over Shah, who described it as a ‘mesmerising experience’.

“Love for Bharat unites us all. Deeply moved to listen to Mizoram’s wonder kid Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte, singing Vande Mataram in Aizawl today. The seven-year-old’s (she is 8) love for Bharat Mata poured out into her song, making listening to her a mesmerising experience. Gifted her a guitar and blessed her for a brilliant future ahead,” Shah wrote on X and shared pictures with her.

Born on June 9, 2016, Esther is a child singer and prodigy who became a media sensation four years ago after her rendition of AR Rahman song ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ went viral. She not only became the fastest viewer-gaining artist on YouTube among Mizo people, Esther received several awards, including a special appreciation from Mizoram Governor.

Shah, who is on a three-day visit to the Northeast, visited Mizoram on Saturday to attend a ceremony for the Assam Rifles’ land being transferred to Mizoram government.
