Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the 35th Konark Festival 2024 and the 14th International Sand Art Festival at Chandrabhaga Beach on Sunday.
Deputy CM Smt. Pravati Parida graced the occasion while MLAs of Pipili, Satyabadi, and Brahmagiri ACs, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Tourism, Director Tourism, Puri Collector, SP, Secretary OSNA and other dignitaries were in attendance.
The 35th Konark Festival, along with the International Sand Art Festival, will be held until December 5, 2024, at Chandrabhaga Beach, Puri.
Organized by the Odisha Tourism Department, the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture, and the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi, the festival will present captivating performances of classical dances including Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, and Mohiniyattam.
The events will take place in an open-air auditorium set against the magnificent 13th-century Sun Temple. In conjunction, the International Sand Art Festival will feature 129 artists from India and around the world, who will craft exquisite sand sculptures.
