New Delhi: Good news for digital news portals. They can now access DD (Doordarshan) & AIR’s (All India Radio)’s trusted repository via PB-SHABD. These media organisations can get access to logo-free content in text, video, picture, and audio form to be made accessible across India in all major Indian languages.
Digital news portals can now register on the PB-SHABD portal by filling out a simple sign-up form at https://shabd.prasarbharati.org/register. A digital proforma will be made available for digital news portals to fill out, which will then undergo internal verification at Prasar Bharati. Only after this verification process is completed will these portals be able to register for PB-SHABD.
PB-SHABD Launched on March 13, 2024, Prasar Bharati-Shared Audio-Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination (PB-SHABD) is a news-sharing service aimed at providing media organizations with daily news feeds in various formats, including video, audio, text, and photos.
PB-SHABD utilizes a robust network of over 1,500 reporters, correspondents, and stringers, supported by 60 dedicated edit desks operating 24/7. This service delivers the latest news from every corner of India, with more than 1,000 stories uploaded daily across 50+ categories, such as agriculture, technology, foreign affairs, and political developments, in all major Indian languages from the Regional News Units (RNUs) and headquarters combined.
Main Features of PB-SHABD:
- Logo-Free Content: All content provided through PB-SHABD is logo-free, and no credit is required for its use.
- Live Feed Feature: The service includes a Live Feed feature, offering exclusive coverage of significant events, such as National award ceremonies from Rashtrapati Bhawan, election rallies, important political events, and various press briefings, all presented without a logo.
- Media Repository: To enhance access, a Media Repository is being developed as an archival library, allowing subscribers to easily access rare and archival footage from the Doordarshan and Akashvani libraries, along with specially curated packages.
