Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha has directed Principals and Heads of schools to ensure that CCTVs at examination halls and strong rooms are in working condition.
In a letter to the school authorities across the state earlier this month, CHSE instructed to facilitate the Annual Higher Secondary Examination, 2025 in a smooth and transparent manner.
“It is mandatory on the part of all higher secondary schools affiliated to CHSE Odisha, to record proceeding of strong rooms of examination halls, Centre Superintendent office, examination halls/rooms, and all laboratories (in case of self-financing higher secondary schools) on CCTV cameras,” the letter from Controller of Examinations Prasanta Kumar Parida to the school authorities read.
This apart, to enable officials of CHSE, School and Mass Education department and district collectorate monitor activity at the exam centres, live streaming of CCTV footage is a must, the letter further stated.
For this purpose, the school authorities need to comply with the guidelines of CHSE by November 15.
Failure to install CCTV system and comply with the CHSE guidelines by the deadline may lead to cancellation of the examination centre (both theory and practical), and further action by the state government, the letter added.
