Bhubaneswar: Devotees can gain entry into the Lord Jagannath temple in Puri through all four gates of the shrine from tomorrow. This information was shared by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Friday.
As per reports, keeping the possibility of huge footfalls during the holy Kartika month in view, a restriction on devotees entering the shrine through the three gates except for the Lion’s gate was imposed. They were entering only through the Lion’s gate.
To decide on the devotees’ darshan system after the holy Kartika month, an important meeting under the chairmanship of Srimandir chief administrator was held today. The district Collector, the SP and other officials of the temple and police department were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, it was decided that a new darshan system would come into force from tomorrow (November 16).
As per the decision taken, devotees can enter the shrine through all the four gates. But, they can’t exit through them. They will exit only through the three gates other than the Lion’s gate. The exit of the devotees through the Lion’s gate has completely been restricted.
However, the servitors and their family members can use any of the gates to enter and exit from the shrine. At the same time, the SJTA informed that devotees’ special darshan system from the Natamandap has still been under consideration. It will come into force after consultation and approval of the Srimandir Management Committee.
