Govt to take action against ineligible recipients of Subhadra money

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday warned that action will be taken against ineligible persons who have availed money under Subhadra Yojana.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida made it clear that the scheme is meant only for eligible beneficiaries and people who are not entitled to get its benefit but have received money will face action. “If anyone has availed Subhadra Yojana money without meeting the criteria will be punished after the department starts enquiry,” she said.

Therefore, the ineligible beneficiaries should come forward and confess to receiving benefits before release of second instalment money of Subhadra Yojana.

The Deputy CM also appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to complete e-KYC through biometric process to avail the benefits under Subhadra Yojana. Eligible beneficiaries should approach the Anganwadi workers and lodge complaints, if any, to get the benefit under the scheme, she said.

If anyone is left out and considers herself eligible for the scheme should lodge a grievance through Anganwadi workers, who will send it to the block office. The eligible beneficiaries will avail the benefits after review. The process will continue till the last beneficiary gets the money under the scheme,” she clarified.

It may be noted that the state government has deferred disbursement of fourth phase Subhadra money of first installment earlier scheduled for December 25 due to ongoing verification. The third phase money was disbursed to 20 lakh women beneficiaries on November 24. More than 80 lakh women have so far availed benefit under the scheme.
