Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has warned of stern action against collection of fees by Jan Seva Kendra and Anganwadi workers for registration of beneficiaries’ names under Subhadra Yojana.
The Women and Child Welfare department, in a notification on Tuesday, said the facility of distribution of forms and online registration for the scheme has been provided free of cost at Angwanwadi centres, Jan Seva Kendras and Mo Seva Kendras.
The department has paid Rs 15 for scanning and uploading of each Subhadra form to these centres. But it has come to the department’s notice that some such centres were charging the people Rs 50 to 200 for each form.
Following such complaint, a Jan Seva Kendra at Derabis in Kendrapada district has been temporarily closed. Similarly, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CM) has taken stern action against a Mo Seva Kendra at Athgarh in the district following a complaint on helpline number.
The department appealed to the people to file complain with nearest police station against anybody demanding money for providing the form or online registration to avail the benefits of Subhadra scheme.
