IMD forecasts rain & fog for Odisha, fall in night temp by 2-4°C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience fog and rain for two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.

According to the weather agency, light rain may occur at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada and Malkangiri districts on December 4 and in Koraput and Malkangiri on December 5. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely one or two places in Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar districts on these two days.

In the last 24 hours, moderate fog was seen in Phulbani and shallow fog in Bhawanipatna and Keonjhar. Light to moderate rain occurred at one or two places in South Interior Odisha with heavy showers at one or two places in Koraput district. There was an appreciable fall in minimum temperatures at one or two places in North Interior Odisha.

While there will be no large change in the night temperature during for the next 2 days, it will thereafter fall by 2-4 degree Celsius during the subsequent 3 days across the state.

It further stated that light to moderate rain may resume at one or two places in South Interior Odisha, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Deogarh districts on December 8. Light to moderate rain may continue at one or two places in Interior Odisha and Gajapati district during the subsequent 24 hours.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack may experience partly cloudy sky for seven days.
