Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has given an ultimatum till December 10 to OAS officers, who are yet to join their new assignments.
The notification issued by Additional Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, added that the defaulting officers “shall be deemed to be placed under suspension from December 11” if they fail to do so.
It mentioned about OAS officers transferred and posted to different places through an October 17 notification and having been centrally relieved from November 11 to be enable them to join their respective places of posting. “Collectors/Controlling Authorities were urged on December 3 to stop the salary of the officers who have not joined in their new place of posting. In spite of repeated instructions, it is ascertained that some officers are still continuing in their previous posts disobeying the orders of government which amounts to gross misconduct.”
The notification further stated that all these officers have been relieved from their previous assignments. “Such officers shall join in their new place of posting by 10.12.2024 (A.N) failing which the defaulting officers shall be deemed to be placed under suspension w.e.f 11.12.2024.”
The officers, who are currently undergoing training at GAA, Bhubaneswar, have been join in their new place of posting soon after completion of the training.
