Bhubaneswar: Tension erupted at ‘Shri Baikuntha Dham’ located at Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar after locals face off with the followers of the self-styled godman while trying to barge into the premises of the ashram on Sunday. As tension escalated, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Kashinath Mishra, father of the self-styled God-man who claims to be the Kalki Avtar of Lord Vishnu, came up with a clarification that his son is not God. Releasing a video message, he said that his son has no connection with the Ashram and it is a conspiracy against my family.
“The photo which is doing rounds on social medias, was taken 10 years ago when my son was only 5-year-old. The photo was taken at a birthday event at my friend’s house. Neither me nor my wife was present in the photo,” Mishra said, ruling out any rumors linking his son to the Ashram’s activities.
He further accused a group of ‘mischievous elements’ for spreading false information and tarnishing his family’s reputation in front of the community. In response to allegations that his son was treated as a ‘guru’, Mishra said such allegations are baseless.
“I am busy promoting the culture of Lord Jagannath and the Sanatan Dharma across the world and my son merely follows our spiritual practices,” he said.
Earlier today, the Child Welfare Committee filed a suo motu case against Kashinath Mishra. While an in-depth inquiry has been ordered by the District Child Protection Officer, concerned officials have been asked to submit a report in 15 days.
