Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed the people of Haryana for electing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for a third consecutive term, emphasising that the promise of ‘vikas’ (development) triumphing over falsehoods.
Addressing the party workers at BJP headquarters, PM Modi said, “People of Haryana have scripted history by blossoming lotus. They have not only made the BJP win but gave the highest number of votes to the party.”
PM Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters in Delhi after the party achieved a resounding victory in the Haryana Assembly elections 2024.
Defying exit poll predictions, the BJP secured 48 seats, paving the way for a record third consecutive term in Haryana. In contrast, the Congress won 37 seats in the 90-member Legislative Assembly.
PM Modi slammed the Congress party for spreading ‘hatred’ and misleading the voters on different issues, including that of farmers and Agniveers. “Congress family hates Dalit, Backward Classes and Tribals. They refused to give chance to them in the election and insulted their identity,” he told party workers.
Earlier, PM Modi hailed the BJP’s win in the Haryana Assembly polls as a victory of its politics of development and good governance, assuring people that the party will leave no stone unturned to fulfil people’s aspirations.
In a series of posts on X, Modi expressed his heartfelt thanks to the people of Haryana, the PM conveyed his gratefulness to them for giving the BJP a majority for a third straight term.
Describing the win as a grand victory, he hailed the party’s “hardworking” members for serving the people and taking the organisation’s development agenda to them. “The BJP has achieved this historic win due to this,” Modi asserted.
On the Jammu and Kashmir election results, Modi hailed the polls as a victory for India’s Constitution and democracy, extending congratulations to the National Conference on their success. He also highlighted that the BJP emerged as the largest party in terms of vote share, highlighting its growing influence in the region.
