Mortal Remains Of 2 Odias Killed In Kuwait Blaze Reach Bhubaneswar; Rs 4 Lakh Ex-Gratia Announced

Bhubaneswar: The mortal remains of two Odia workers killed in the devastating fire in Kuwait three days ago were brought to Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Sources said the bodies of the two Odias killed in the blaze on June 12 arrived at Bhubaneswar airport in a special aircraft in the morning. The two were among the 45 Indians killed in the devastating fire in Kuwait.

Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida were present at the airport to receive and pay their last respects to the victims. The deceased have been identified as Santosh Kumar Gouda and Mahammad Jahur. Jahur was a native of Karadapalli village under Tigiria police station of Cuttack district while Gouda hailed from Ranajhalli village in Ganjam district. They were working for a private company and residing in the seven-storey apartment building in Mangaf at Southern Kuwait where the fire broke out early on Wednesday morning.

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is also likely to pay tribute to the deceased. The state government has arranged a special programme to pay tributes to the two Odia victims following which their mortal remains will be carried to their native places for last rites
