New Delhi: Entrepreneur and motivational speaker Vivek Bindra, who got married earlier this month, has been booked for allegedly assaulting his wife, police said on Saturday.
According to reports, a case was registered against him under Indian Penal Code sections 323 (causing hurt), 504 (insult to provoke breach of peace), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and 427 (mischief), at Sector 126 police station in Noida on December 14, just eight days after the wedding, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Yanika’s brother Vaibhav Kwatra.
Vaibhav, a resident of Ghaziabad, accused his brother-in-law of locking up his sister in a room, hurling abuses and subjected her to severe physical assault, resulting in injuries all over her body.
“On December 7, Vivek indulged in an argument with his mother following which my sister Yanika interfered. Vivek took her inside the room, locked the door and abused [her]. He beat her, because of which she has wounds all over his body and cannot even hear properly. He pulled her hair, she is also feeling dizzy due to the head wound,” the complaint said.
While alleging that Bindra broke Yanika’s mobile phone, he further stated that several videos and other records have been submitted with police in which the accused can be seen misbehaving with his sister. Yanika is undergoing treatmnt at Kailash Deepak Hospital in Karkardooma, Delhi, he added.
Police are investigating the allegations and will take action upon probe, reports added.
