Balasore: Once again on Friday a series of loud and mysterious sounds created panic among residents of Balasore’s Nilagiri and Bhadrak’s Basudevpur area.
According to sources, people ran out of their houses as a loud sound was heard between 9:50 am and 10 am. The sound resonated for a few minutes. Residents looked up at the sky and around but could not trace the source. “It felt like an earthquake and much louder than a bomb,” a resident told the media.
On Thursday too, a similar sound was heard three times between 2:55 and 3 pm. Residents also felt a vibration and the doors and windows of their houses shook creating fear in them.
They suspect that it could be because of some tests being conducted by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at Wheeler Island but the district administration or DRDO is yet to issue any statement.
