Odisha Police conducts full dress rehearsal for I-Day parade

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police on Sunday conducted the full dress rehearsal of the Independence Day parade at Unit- III Exhibition Ground here on Sunday.

The DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal, Police Commission Soumendra Priyadarshi, and Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh were present at the event. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take the salute at the parade.

Altogether five consignments, including one from neighbouring Chhattisgarh and the Police band participated in the dress rehearsal today.

DGP Bansal said elaborate security arrangements have been made for the I-Day parade in the city as well as the districts, especially the Maoist-affected areas of the state. Fifteen platoons of police have been deployed in the capital city, while traffic management has been reinforced.

Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshini said that the safety of the participants and visitors is the top priority of the police before, during, and after the event. As a result, a three-layered security ring has been put in place for the event.
