Prashant Jagdev discharged from SCBMCH after granted bail

Bhubaneswar: Khurda MLA-elect Prashant Jagdev was discharged from SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack on Sunday.

This come a couple of days after a court here granted three-day interim bail to Jagdev for taking part in the oath-taking ceremony of the maiden BJP government in Odisha on June 10, with a condition that he will not indulge in any criminal activity during this period.

He has been granted bail for three days from June 9 to 11 and asked to surrender before the court on June 12. Jagdev was arrested on May 26 for allegedly damaging an electronic voting machine (EVM) and manhandling two polling personnel at a booth in Kaunripatana village in Begunia assembly constituency in Khurda district while polling was underway during the third round of polls in the state on May 25.

The MLA, who is suffering from diabetes, heart disease and problems in spinal cord, was shifted to SCBMCH from Khurda jail on May 30 night as his condition deteriorated. He was undergoing treatment in ICU of the medicine ward.
