President inaugurates Judicial Court Complex, calls for ending ‘adjounrment culture’

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday called for ending the adjournment culture in judicial system to ensure faster justice to the victims in the country.

Addressing the legal fraternity after inaugurating the Judicial Court Complex in Bhubaneswar, the President said repeated adjournments of the cases had been delaying the delivery of justice to the litigants. The innocent and helpless victims were feeling harassed by being told to come to the court for a long period of time, she said and hoped that the legal fraternity would address the issue with seriousness.

Stating that language should not be a barrier for delivery of justice, she said appreciated the Odisha Government for making judicial orders available in Odia and Santhali languages.

Congratulating the state government and Orissa High Court for opening the judicial court complex, built with latest technology, the President hoped that it would provide better access of judiciary to common people.

The five-storey building is centrally air-conditioned and totally fire-proof. There are post office, bank and a dispensary for the benefit of the people coming to the court.
