Bharat Vikash Parishad observes 54th Vijaya Diwas

Bhubaneswar: The Bharat Vikash Parishad, Bhubaneswar Central Branch, celebrated the 54th Vijaya Diwas at Buddha Mandir Auditorium here recently. Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 16th December throughout the country to commemorate the victory of India over Pakistan in the 1971 War.

The day was observed with profound enthusiasm, fervour and a sense of patriotism by all the dignitaries and the audience. Air Marshal J N Burma, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) was the Chief Guest, and Dr. Geeta Pattanaik was the Guest Speaker on the occasion. The Programme was presided by Major General (Dr) P.K Pattnaik, VSM (Retd). Colonel P.K Das (Retd) made video presentations on ‘How the 1971 War was won by India against Pakistan’ and ‘Operation Trident of Indian Navy in the 1971 War’.

On the occasion, Bharat Vikash Parisad felicitated Colonel P.K. Das (Retd) and Colonel (Dr) P.C. Pattnaik (Retd), the two veterans of the Indian Army, for their distinguished service to the Army and to the society.

Dr. MP Rout, President; Colonel SK Dash (Retd), Convenor of the Programme and BK Behera, Secretary of the Bharat Vikash Parishad, Bhubaneswar Central Branch, were present.
