Billiards & Snooker Meet: Subrat shines again, bags 5th title

Cuttack: The 29th All Odisha Billiards and Snooker Championships, which began on October 4, 2023, at the Cuttack Club concluded on Friday.

In the senior snooker category, Subrat Das defeated Nishant Biswal (6-5) to win his fifth snooker championship title. Subrat also won the title in senior billiards category by defeating Kunal Agarwal (4-3).

Similarly, Vishesh Singhal won the championship in in both the Sub-Junior and Junior-Billiards and Snooker Categories while Syed Azlan Ali finished as the runner-up in both divisions. More than 40 players from Odisha had competed in the mega meet.

The National Billiards and Snooker Championships, which will take place in Chennai later this year, will feature all of the champions and runners-up from Odisha.

President of Cuttack Club Dr. Jayanta Kumar Panda and Mr. Jasobanta Das – Hony, Mr. Siddharth Sahu from the Department of Sports, Government of Odisha, attended the concluding ceremony as the Chief Guests. Honorary Secretary of Billiards and Snooker Association of Odisha Srimoy Kar and joint secretary Mr. Syed Sameer Ali were also present in the closing ceremony.
