Ranchi: Amid speculation over BJP’s ticket distribution for the upcoming elections, reports indicate that the party has decided to nominate Purnima Lalit Das, the daughter-in-law of former Jharkhand Chief Minister and current Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, from Jamshedpur East.
Sources reveal that after intense deliberation, the BJP leadership approved her candidacy, with an official announcement expected by Sunday morning. Apart from Jamshedpur East, Geeta Balmuchu is likely to contest from Chaibasa’s reserved seat, and Jeetu Chandan Ram from Kanke. Other potential candidates include Naveen Jaiswal for Ranchi, Ajay Nath Shahdeo for Hatia, Ujjwal Das for Simaria, and Dr. Arun Oraon for Sisai.
Party insiders suggest that Raghubar Das used his influence to secure the nomination for his daughter-in-law, despite discussions about other potential candidates, such as Shivshankar Singh and Amarpreet Singh.
Now, BJP leaders are expected to rally behind Purnima Lalit Das as she prepares for the election campaign in Jamshedpur East.
