Bhubaneswar: With the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha fast approaching, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that the party will its complete list of candidates for different seats in the state very soon.
Names of more candidates for Assembly seats will be announced by the party in the next two-three days, BJP’s Odisha Election in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar. While the saffron party has already announced all 21 Lok Sabha candidates in the state, it has declared nominees for 112 of the 147 Assembly seats so far,
Tomar said the entire candidate list of candidates for all constituencies is likely to be announced by April 20. “Names of candidates will be announced in the next two to three days,” he said told reporters after arriving in Bhubaneswar.
Stating that a change is likely to be made in one Assembly seat due to some technical error as the constituency is reserved for ST. Party sources said there may be a change for Pottangi Assembly constituency reserved for ST.
Asserting that BJP will perform well in the twin elections, Tomar said the party will put up an impressive show in both in Assembly and Lok Sabha segments. He further claimed that BJP is all set to form the government in Odisha with a clear majority in Assembly apart from winning many Lok Sabha seats in the state.
