Boy killed in crocodile attack, Rs.6 lakh ex-gratia announced

Bhubaneswar: An eight-year-old boy died after being dragged into the Mahanadi river by a crocodile in Tikarpada area of Angul district on Saturday.

The boy was attacked by the crocodile that suddenly emerged out of water when he was playing on the banks of the Mahanadi river in Tikarpada area. His body was later fished out by fire services personnel.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the death of the boy in crocodile attack and announced Rs.6 lakh ex-gratia for the family of the deceased. Expressing deep grief over the incident, the Chief Minister has extended his sympathies to the bereaved family.
