Bhawanipatna: Mounting a blistering attack on the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government over its performance, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday called upon the people of Odisha to vote Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power in the state to get benefits of all Central schemes.
Addressing an election meeting at Lal Bahadur Stadium at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi, the veteran BJP leader accused the Naveen Patnaik government of depriving the people of Odisha of the benefits of various Central schemes.
Lashing out at Congress in the same vein, Singh said BJP is different from BJD and the grand old party as it always fulfils its promised. “We are not like BJD or Congress. We do what we say,” he said.
Stating that the people of the state have seen the rule of Congress and BJD, Singh called upon the voters to give an opportunity to BJP this time and see the change.
“Bring BJP government in Odisha and you will not be deprived of the benefits of any major programme,” he said, adding that Ayushman Bharat scheme will be implemented in Odisha if BJP comes to power in the state.
Coming down heavily at the ruling BJD for refusing to implement Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Defence Minister said no eligible person in Odisha will be left without an Ayushman Bharat card and its benefits if BJP forms the govt in the state:
The BJP leader further asserted that poverty will be eradicated in next 10-15 years in the country. “Over 25 crore people have already been lifted out of poverty in the country and in the next 10-15 years, poverty will be totally eliminated,” he said.
The Defence Minister sought the support of the people for BJP’s Kalahandi Lok Sabha candidate Malvika Devi and nominees for Assembly constituencies falling under it.
