Final-Round Polls: Modi to visit Odisha on May 29, Shah on May 28

Bhubaneswar: The BJP is planning to unleash another round of campaign blitzkrieg to woo voters in Odisha ahead of the final-round elections on June 1.

Addressing a presser on Sunday, party state vice president Golak Mohapatra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Odisha on May 29. “He is scheduled to address a public meeting at Chhau Padia in Baripada around noon, and then at Balasore around 1 pm and Kendrapada around 3 pm,” he said.

He further informed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address public meetings in Chandbali, Korei and Nimapada on May 28.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also embark on a two-day visit to Odisha on May 27. “He will address public meetings in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Kakatpur on May 27 and Rairangpur, Morada, Soro and Jagatsinghpur on May 28,” he said.

Mohapatra further said that the party will intensify campaigning for the final-round elections and its MP candidates – Sambit Patra, Aparajita Sarangi, and Pradeep Panigrahi – will conduct rallies in all six Lok Sabha constituencies, exhorting people to protect Odia Asmita (pride), culture and tradition and vote for a BJP government in Odisha.

Voting will be held in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur LS seats and 42 Vidhan Sabha segments within them on June 1.
