Five Killed in Violent Clash Over Alleged Extramarital Affair in Odisha

Sundargarh: In a tragic and violent incident, five people, including three women, were killed in a brutal clash between two groups in Karamdihi village under Sadar police limits late last night. The altercation is believed to have stemmed from an alleged extramarital affair involving members of a nomadic group from Maharashtra’s Wardha district.

The conflict erupted when Abinash Pawar, a member of the nomadic group, brought home a woman from another group after his wife allegedly eloped with her lover. This led to a severe rift between the two groups. On Tuesday night, while Pawar’s group was asleep, the rival group allegedly attacked them with sharp-edged weapons, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and leaving four others critically injured.

The deceased have been identified as three women and two men, all belonging to Pawar’s group. The attackers also reportedly kidnapped Pawar’s second wife and two children before fleeing the scene.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital.
