Bhubaneswar: The State-Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Wednesday approved 25 industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs 4,222.24 crore.
The SLSWCA headed by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja cleared projects spanning a variety of high-impact sectors like green energy equipment, pharmaceutical, textile and apparel, plastics, food processing and tourism which would generate job opportunities for more than 14,497 people.
The projects will come up in 11 districts of Angul, Ganjam, Khurda, Nabarangpur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Puri and Kandhamal. Among the big projects, Hetero Labs Limited has proposed to set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 700 crore and employment potential for 2,600 people.
Ganesha Ecopet Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 520 crore for a manufacturing unit of recycled polyethylene terephthalate granules with an annual capacity of 45,000 tonne in Ganjam. Shyammetalics Specialty Alloys will set up a titanium slag unit at a cost of Rs 710.5 crore in Sambalpur. Shalimar Glass Works has proposed for a packaging container glass manufacturing unit at Rs 530.98 crore in Khurda.
The SLSWCA also cleared four hotel projects worth around Rs 278 crore.
