Bhubaneswar: A day after taking oath as Odisha Chief Minister, BJP heavyweight Mohan Charan Majhi is set to operate temporarily from the state guest house in Bhubaneswar.

In a significant move, the BJP government ordered removal of 5T Charter and Mo Sarkar boards, which were introduced by the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) regime in the state. As per official sources, the Information and Public Relations department has directed immediate removal of boards of 5T Charter and Mo Sarkar boards from all government offices in the state.

According to sources, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is likely to function from the state guest house as a temporary measure, while search is underway for a permanent office. No suitable place has so far been found for the purpose.

Majhi, a firebrand tribal leader representing Keonjhar in the Assembly, reached the state guest house after returning from his visit to Puri. Majhi was stated to have held some official meetings there. First floor of the guest house has reportedly been prepared for functioning of the CMO for the time being.

After beginning to work from the guest house, Majhi was stated to have called several senior officials and issued certain instructions for immediate implementation. The CM reportedly held discussion with senior officials of Housing and Urban Development department.
