Bhubaneswar: Ration cards of beneficiaries would be cancelled by the Odisha government if they fail to complete e-KYC process by January 31.
This was stated by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday. Over 49 lakh ration card beneficiaries in the state are yet to complete the e-KYC process, he said.
The state government has extended the deadline for completing the e-KYC process for ration card beneficiaries to January 31, 2025 for the benefit those who are yet to do it. The state government has urged the beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC at local Electronic Public Service (EPS) outlets or ration distribution centres.
The Minister further stated that new ration cards will be issued after all eligible beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System (PDS) complete the e-KYC process.
To facilitate the process, government officials have been directed to assist beneficiaries living in the state and Odias currently residing in other states.
