Heatwave forces Govt. to close schools for 3 days

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of severe heatwave conditions prevailing across Odisha, the State government on Wednesday announced to close all schools up to class 12 both government and private for 3 days from April 18 to 20.

The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has issued heat wave warnings in several districts till April 20. In a X post said, the School and Mass Education Department said, “The state government has closed all the schools for three days in view of the heat wave and rising temperature. It has been decided to close all government, government-aided and private schools from April 18 to 20.”

The decision was welcomed by parents as they demanded that the school timing should be revised due to severe heatwave.
