Bhubaneswar: After a brief spell of heatwave, Odisha is likely to experience light rain or thundershowers from April 2, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
Light rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places in Koraput and Malkangiri districts on April 2, Koraput, Malkangiri,Rayagada, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi on April 3, and Koraput, Malkangiri,Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Gajapati on April 4.
There is a forecast for light rain or thundershowers at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Ganjam districts on April 5 with little change in the weather conditions during the subsequent three days.
The weather agency further stated that there will no large change in day and night temperatures across the state during the next 5 days.
Notably, the mercury had soared to 43°C at Jharsuguda and breached the 40°C mark in Bhubaneswar on Friday, Sambalpur was the hottest place in the state at 42°C on Saturday due to the prevailing heatwave conditions under the influence of dry and warm northerly and north-westerly wind.
