Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of people on Tuesday under the banner of Hindu Suraksha Manch staged a protest near the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar to protest the violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh.
The members of the community raised their voices against the terrorist activities of the Muslims in the neighbouring country. Many saints, school students and people from different sections of the society joined the protest on the occasion of World Human Rights Day. They put up posters and banners and raised slogans to stop violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh.
“Several organisations have been staging protests across the country for the violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh. Several students, people from all walks of life and ‘sankirtana mandalis’ from different villages joined the protest in Bhubaneswar today in large numbers,” said a saint.
“The way the Hindus are being tortured in Bangladesh has become unbearable. The Hindus are the minority communities in that country and the government should provide them safety and security. However, the Bangladesh government is helping the persons who are indulged in violent activities against the Hindus. We strongly condemn the incidents and it should be stopped immediately. We request the Indian government to take necessary actions against it, otherwise Hindu community will hit the streets,” said another protestor.
Notably, Bangladesh is witnessing political instability following the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government. There have been reports of targetted attacks on the Hindu community, a minority in the country.
