Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to batter several parts of Odisha during the next three days as the low pressure area over Jharkhand moved westward and turned well marked, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
The low pressure area over northwest Jharkhand and neighbourhood moved nearly westwards and lay as well marked low pressure area over southeast Uttar Pradesh & adjoining northwest Madhya Pradesh in the morning.
It is likely to continue to move nearly westwards and intensify into a depression over west Madhya Pradesh by August 26 and reach south Rajasthan and adjoining north Gujarat by August 27.
Similarly, under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region during next 48 hours.
The weather agency said heavy to very heavy rain is likely to lash many areas till August 26, while light to moderate rain will occur in most parts of the state during the next week.

2) Yellow Warning: Heavy rain (7 to 11cm) may occur at one or two places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Balangir, Nuapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Boudh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur.

1) Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 20cm) may occur at one or two places of Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts.
2) Yellow Warning: Heavy rain (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda districts.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar.
