Mercury Drops Below 15°C In Cuttack; IMD Forecasts Further Fall In Night Temp Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Amid rainfall activity in Odisha, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a further dip in the night temperature during the last 24 hours, the regional meteorological centre informed on Tuesday.

The mercury dropped to 14.5 and 16.4 degree Celsius in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, respectively. The cities had recorded 16 and 17.2 degree Celsius, the previous day.

Koraput was the coldest in the state at 10.3 degree Celsius, followed by Kirei in Sundargarh at 10.4 degree Celsius, Baripada at 10.6 degree Celsius, Keonjhar at 11.4 degree Celsius and Sundargarh at 11.5 degree Celsius. Dense fog was also seen at Bhawanipatna and Balangir and shallow to moderate fog at Baripada.

While there is no further fog warning, light to moderate rain will continue in coastal and South Odisha for three days. Dry weather conditions will prevail thereafter. The weather agency has also forecast a gradual fall in the night temperature by 2-3 degrees at many places in the state after two days.

RAIN FORECAST

In the last 24 hours, Kantapada in Cuttack districts recorded highest 11mm rainfall followed by Sohela in Bargarh at 8 mm, Nayagarh at 5 mm and Digapahandi in Ganjam, Belgaon in Balangir and Daringbadi in Kandhamal at 2 mm each, it added.
