Bhubaneswar: Southwest Monsoon has covered the entire state of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
According to the weather agency, thunderstorm activity with gusty wind will continue in the state till June 26. There is also a warning of heavy rainfall on June 26-27. “There is a possibility of one or two spells of rain or thundershower in Bhubaneswar during the next 24 hours,” it added.
YELLOW WARNING: JUNE 23
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in the state.
JUNE 24
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Rayagada districts.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is also likely at one or two places in the state.
JUNE 25
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely at Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, and Rayagada districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in the state.
JUNE 26
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, and Sundargarh. Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at many places in the state.
JUNE 27
Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts.
