Bhubaneswar: Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NTPC Gurdeep Singh paid a short visit to NTPC Kaniha on November 17. He was accompanied by President, Sanyukta Mahila Samiti Smt Kiran Singh, Director (Operations) Ramesh Babu V, Sr. Member Sanyukta Mahila Samiti Smt Vani Ramesh Babu and ED to CMD and Director (Project) designate K S Sundaram.
Shri Parth Majumdar,RED (ER II), Smt Mahua Majumdar, President ,Vasudha Mahila Mandal, Shri Rajnish Rastogi, GM (HR), ER II, Bhubaneswar and Smt Sikha Rastogi,Sr Member , Vasudha Mahila Mandal were also present on the occasion.
On arrival, they were given a warm welcome by Shri N S Rao, ED, Talcher Kaniha, Shri A K Sehgal, GM (O&M) and Smt. Vijaya Rao, President, Tanvi Sangam, Ladies Club, NTPC Kaniha.
Addressing the Kaniha family at Deep Tarang Auditorium, Shri Singh complimented the Kaniha station for incident free operations during the past two years but added that there was no place for complacency in the matter of Safety. He said for NTPC to achieve good generation, it was important that units like Kaniha give their best output. He said that continuous demand in the grid was good indication of the rapid growth that the nation was witnessing. NTPC is fast growing into an integrated global energy major with sustained growth year on year, he added.
Earlier Shri Singh and other dignitaries visited the historical shrine of Anantshahi Vishnu in the Plant premises. Thereafter Shri Singh visited the FGD site and inaugurated the 33 KV switch gear room and commencement of new work site. He visited the Stage II Unit control Room and interacted with the desk engineers. CMD reviewed the performance of NTPC Kaniha Power Station at a meeting with the heads of departments. He also met the representatives of unions and associations and had brief interaction with them.
A colourful cultural programme was organised in the Township Auditorium in honour of the visiting CMD and other dignitaries, who were also felicitated by NTPC Kaniha.
