NTPC Darlipali holds public hearing for stage-II expansion

Rourkela: NTPC Darlipali conducted public hearing at Raidihi panchayat in Lephripada of Sundargarh district for the stage-II expansion on Monday. The hearing witnessed welcoming participation from various stakeholders and locals residing in the area.

Chaired by Regional Officer (SPCB) and ADM, Sundargarh, the hearing resolved queries of the people and provided them with the necessary details around the upcoming project. NTPC Darlipali’s immense contribution towards promoting the well-being and inclusive development of society has garnered laurels from all. The company has constantly put in phenomenal efforts towards raising the overall education & health levels of people, especially the underprivileged.

Providing ‘Utkarsh Scholarship’ to meritorious students, sponsoring industrial training to local youths from CIPET, Bhubaneswar and bi-annually organizing Girl Empowerment Mission workshops are some of the major CSR initiatives of the company in the education domain. NTPC strives hard in creating a healthier and happier society by regularly organizing regular Health Check-up Camps, sending Medical Mobile Units to nearby 34 villages, providing assistive aids to differently-abled and fulfilling the needs of people by providing them with the health & utility essentials, a release stated.

The power company has also developed a medical college and hospital and a polytechnic college in the district putting in further significant strides towards elevating the standards of health & education. The company stands committed towards advancing the cause of environmental sustainability by investing in clean & green sources of energy and minimizing its carbon footprint by planting hundreds of trees on regular intervals using the ‘Miyawaki’ and other innovative methods. In the long run, this expansion will work as a catalyst for opening new avenues of job creation, providing novel opportunities and promoting all-round development in the region, the release added.
