NTPC Kaniha provides tricycles, assistive aids to PwDs

Bhubaneswar: The NTPC Kaniha on Thursday distributed assistive aids including tricycles and wheelchairs to persons with disabilities (PwDs) and senior citizens of Angul district’s Kaniha block under a special CSR initiative.

The tricycles, wheelchair, creches, hand-propelled tricycle, battery-operated tricycle, blind cane, hearing aids etc. were handed over to the beneficiaries A.K. Sehgal, HOP, Kaniha in presence of Satya Rama Krishna, GM (O&M), A.J. Rajkumar, GM (Maintenance), S.S. Rao, GM(ADM), Brij Kishore Pandey, HoHR, G Mohakul, CMO, representatives of unions, associations and other dignitaries.

The beneficiaries were identified in four different disability assessment camps conducted earlier with assistance of experts. As many as 113 persons received these assistive aids based on their disability assessment and requirements.

Speaking on the occasion, Sehgal expressed the hope that these assistive devices would make life better and more comfortable for the differently abled persons. NTPC CSR would continue to extend such assistance for the community villages in the future, he added.
