Odisha announces Rs 30k monthly honorarium for Padma awardees

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday announced that it would extend a monthly honorarium of Rs 30,000 to the Padma award recipients. The State has 55 living Padma awardees.

Informing about the decision, the government issued a press release. As per the release, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi took the decision to provide the monthly honorarium to the Padma awardees.

“With this decision, all the 55 living Padma awardees of the state will get an honorarium of Rs 30,000 per month. This will cost Rs 2 crore per year,” read the release.
