Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet on Tuesday approved 12 proposals of 11 departments at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena said a new scheme in health sector, “Ama Hospital”, has been approved in the meeting. An initiative under 5T, the scheme aims at strengthening public health infrastructure for improved standards of care and wellbeing of the patient and better basic amenities for patients and their attendants.
Following are major components of the scheme:
- Improved patient waiting area with all basic patient amenities
- Help Desk with maps for enhanced patient support in terms of guiding patients and attendants to access the services
- More Drug Distribution Counters for quick dispensing of Drugs
- Uniform branding, signages and prototypes within the campus for easy navigating within the facility
- Digital Display Boards for improved public awareness
- Queue management and patient calling system to reduce overcrowding in service areas
- Online registration system for better patient management
- Laboratory report on phone to avoid multiple visit to hospitals
- Mission Shakti Cafe within the hospital premises for easy access to refreshment requirements
- Aahaar Kendras for providing quality food in subsidised rate
- This initiative will be implemented across all facilities in the state in a phased manner in five years. In the first year, 149 public health facilities are being strengthened. A sum of Rs 3388.73 crore have been provisioned for the scheme.
Other major decisions of the Cabinet are as follow:
- Additional Rs 469.39 crore for State Capital Region Improvement in Power System (SCRIPS) under Chief Minister’s Power Development Programme (CMPDP) to be implemented by OPTCL by financial year 2024-25 for expansion of existing transmission and distribution infrastructure of Bhubaneswar.
- The lowest tender of Koya & Company Construction Ltd, Hyderabad amounting to Rs 307,87,92,050 for execution of 2 Mega Piped Water Supply Projects to provide safe drinking water in Balangir district. Around 94,554 people of 116 villages under 20 panchayats of Saintala block will be provided with safe drinking water. The work is targeted for completion within 24 months.
- Lease of government land measuring 9.4 acre at Gothapatna in Bhubaneswar to Xavier Institute of Management (XIM) Society for setting up a new Loyola School on free of premium
- Rs 86.54 crore for construction of barrage on river Rushikulya near Janivilli village of Dharakote block in Ganjam district. The work is planned to be completed in 24 months. It includes hydro-mechanical works, power connectivity works, road connectivity and staff quarters.
- Tender of Ashribad Eng & Constructions Pvt Ltd in joint venture with WS RK Infracorp Pvt. Ltd. amounting to Rs 156.51 crore for construction of Berhampur Ring Road.
