Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet on Thursday approved 3 departments’ 8 proposals including regularisation of 504 contractual supervisors of Women and Child Development (W&CD) department.
In its 75th session chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Cabinet observed that the regularisation of their services will ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential services and support to vulnerable children and women in the community covered under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) programs in the State.
The Cabinet has greenlit the establishment of the State Water Informatics Centre (SWIC), aimed at providing a comprehensive repository of hydro-meteorological data for the state. SWIC will seamlessly collaborate with the National Water Informatics Centre (NWIC) to facilitate the exchange of hydro-meteorological data between the central and state governments.
Similarly, six proposals of Health Department were approved to boost healthcare by creating additional posts. The Cabinet decided to amend the rules for the recruitment of health staff including pharmacists, nurses and radiographers in the state.
After the meeting, Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, DC-cm-Addl. Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, W&CD Department, Subha Sharma, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit briefed the approved proposals.
