Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to embark on a four-day visit to Singapore, aiming to position Odisha as the premier destination for global investors.
This visit marks the state’s first international outreach under the new BJP government, ahead of the ‘Utkarsh Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave 2025’ scheduled for January next year.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, CM Majhi highlighted Singapore’s prominence in sectors such as chemicals, logistics, financial services, food processing, petrochemicals, green energy, shipbuilding, and semiconductors. “When investors think about investing in India, Odisha will be the first choice for doing business,” Majhi stated confidently.
The high-level delegation, led by CM Majhi, will engage with top industry leaders, investors, and policymakers in Singapore. The agenda includes showcasing Odisha’s resources, skilled manpower, and favorable industrial policies through roadshows and interactive sessions.
The delegation will also explore potential collaborations and strengthen economic and cultural ties with the Odia diaspora in Singapore.
Majhi emphasized the strategic importance of this visit, noting that Odisha’s fully operational ports and focus on the chemical and petrochemical industries present immense growth potential.
The visit aims to attract significant investments and bring the latest innovations in technology, manufacturing, and skill development to Odisha.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that this outreach will yield substantial results, setting the stage for new industries and job creation in Odisha. “Our goal is to ensure Odisha’s continued progress on a global scale while creating opportunities for skill development and employment in our state,” Majhi concluded.
