Keonjhar: The 20th Punyatithi of the visionary leader and founder chairman of OP Jindal Group, Shri Om Prakash Jindal, fondly known as Bauji, was observed with deep reverence at Barbil Pellet Plant, Kasia and Tensa iron mines of Jindal Steel on Monday.
Marking the occasion, voluntary blood donation camps were conducted at all three locations by the Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, in association with the Keonjhar and Sundargarh District Blood Banks, where more than three hundred blood units were collected. A series of social and spiritual services were also organized across these locations to honour his enduring legacy.
The day commenced with special puja, prayers and Geeta Yajna at the temples within the respective townships. Employees, their families and community members, led by Unit Heads – Purushotham M D (Barbil Pellet Plant), Pramod Kumar Patra (Kasia Iron & Dolomite Mines), Raghuraj Raghuvanshi (TRB Mines, Tensa), and Ashish Ranjan Mohanty (Head HR & ES), actively participated in the rituals, paying homage to the divine soul. A soulful Bhajan program was organized at Jindal Nagar, Barbil Pellet Plant, drawing a large gathering of employees and locals who joined in spiritual remembrance of OP Jindal.
Adding to the observation, the Ladies’ Clubs of the townships organized various memorial programs where employees, business associates and their families gathered to pay heartfelt tributes to the beloved Bauji.
Employees of Jindal Steel’s Bhubaneswar office also paid floral tribute Shri O. P. Jindal on his 20th Punyathithi. Mr. Prashant Hota, President and Head (Group CSR) highlighted the contribution of Shri O. P. Jindal ji to the foundation of make in India and industry led inclusive social prosperity. Om Prakash Jindal (7 August 1930 – 31 March 2005) was born in Hisar, Haryana. A pioneering industrialist, he founded the OP Jindal Group of Companies, which is now a leading business conglomerate in the world. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the Indian steel industry, he was honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in November 2004. Beyond business, he also played a vital role in public service as Haryana’s Minister of Power and a distinguished member of both the Haryana Legislative Assembly and the Indian Parliament.
