Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has come up with a host of programmes for celebration of Raja festival. The OTDC kicked off the celebration with Raja Mahotsav organised at its headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and Ekamra MLA Babu Singh inaugurated the Mahotsav. Raja marks the celebration of womanhood in the state every year.
As part of the three-day festival, the Corporation has made special arrangements for sale of Raja delicacies and sweets across all its units. Further, traditional swings have been set up and Mehndi artists invited at Pantha Nivas in Bhubaneswar to decorate the hands of women during the festival free of cost.
Besides, three “Pitha on Wheels” vans will be stationed at Master Canteen, KIIT Square, ITER – Khandagiri from 8 am to 12 noon and 4 pm to 7 pm for sale of Raja delicacies. These vans will provide option for take away of Raja Pithas and other items. The Pitha on Wheels is also stationed at Sambalpur.
Raja Pitha counters will be set up at Silver City Boat Club, Cuttack, ISBT Café and Nimantran Restaurant in Bhubaneswar from June 14 to 16. The Pitha counter will be operated at Kalinga convention Hall of Pantha Nivas, Bhubaneswar from June 13 to 16.
Director of OTDC Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, general manager Lalatendu Sahoo, working ;president of Utkal Paryatan Nigam Employee Association Benudhara Patra were among others who were present at the inauguration of Raja Mahotsav.
