Sudarsan Pattnaik creates sand art to mark Parikrama Prakalpa opening

Puri: Internationally-acclaimed artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a magnificent sand art on Puri sea beach to commemorate the inauguration of Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa on Wednesday.

The masterpiece features idols of the sibling deities of Jagannath Temple overlooking the newly-built heritage corridor.

Sudarsan shared a video of his work with an enchanting Jagannath bhajan by playback singer Jubin Nautiyal, who rendered his voice to songs in movies like Kabir Singh, Fitoor, Kaabil, and more, playing in the backdrop.

This artistic expression beautifully captures the essence of the occasion while paying homage to Lord Jagannath.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to inaugurate Parikrama Prakalpa, which is part of the Augmentation of Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture Scheme aimed at transforming the pilgrim town into an international heritage destination, around 1.30 pm. He along with Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb will then lead a procession around the heritage corridor around 2 pm. They will be accompanied by dignitaries and cultural troupes.

Naveen will also release a number of documentary videos on the project on the occasion. The CM will felicitate all involved in the execution of the parikrama plan around 2.30 pm, before leaving for Bhubaneswar.

People will be allowed to enter the parikrama after 3 pm.
