Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Wednesday appointed Manoj Kumar Parida, a retired IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, as Chief Information Commissioner of Odisha Soochana Commission under Right to Information Act-2005.
He will succeed Jalada Kumar Tripathy, a retired 1985-batch IPS officer and former Tamil Nadu top cop. Parida, a 1986-batch IAS officer, had been serving as Insurance Ombudsman in Bhubaneswar since July 2022. He was earlier posted as Chief Secretary of Puducherry and adviser to the Chandigarh Administrator.
The official release further informed about appointment of Pranabindu Acharya, retired IPS officer, Kalpana Pattnaik, High Court Advocate, and Pabitra Mandal, retired IAS officer, as Information Commissioners.
The Odisha Information Commission, established on March 2, 2006, operates under RTI Act and is headquartered in Bhubaneswar.
